Brain Drain
Intruders Detected! Activating the Cerebral CryoPod Defender (that's you!)
You are the weapon that must defend the CryoPods until help can arrive (shown by the orange bar). Gather batteries to fuel repairs and activate force fields at the Super-Computer.
Be warned, you start with limited health and movement abilities.
Good Luck!
Controls:
WASD - movement
Spacebar - jump
E - interact
Q / M - pause game / open menu
Left Mouse Button - press onscreen buttons
(I have added controller inputs but I ran out of time to test them, therefore they are not recommended but you're welcome to try it!)
If there are bugs please use Q/M to access the pause menu, from there you can reload the game.
This game was made by a solo developer and all visual assets (except the 'E' prompt) were hand-drawn within the 2 week window. The SFX were originally from an asset pack I have the rights to and some were edited to fit the context better (e.g. the player character sounds are all modified gun noises! You really are the weapon! :P)
Sorry there isn't volume controls or a proper tutorial, I ran out of time to implement them! (This prototype was developed for the 16th Pirate Software Game Jam) N.B. I intentionally omitted background music as I wanted to make the atmosphere less comfy!
Thanks for playing my prototype!

I just love the art style. The subtle footstepping is such a nice touch, it's gentle and not overbearing, but adds to the atmosphere, which helped elevate the entire game's sound. I do believe having an ambient track would fit best, sound wise. The artstyle is soooo good.
Thank you so so much! <3 I was worried the footstep SFX would get too repetitive so I added pitch shifting and I think that helped a lot!
Thats a really great prototype and the art work deserves special round of applause. I think you made the right call of not having bg music. It kept the atmosphere. Personally I didn't like a few UI elements but overall UI is done great.
Nothing much to say because you did awesome work.
Thank you so much!
Art is cool, the character controller works like a charm too. Surprised to see such a clean final game from a solo dev. Awesome stuff! =D
Thank you so much!!!! <3
